Journey to Crimea Map

Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
 Rode the six hundred.

This time we're off to Greece, the Ukraine and Turkey on the Crystal Serenity; from the Acropolis in Athens to the minarets of Istanbul, traversing the Corinth Canal on a "caique" and navigating the Bosporus into the Black Sea.  On the agenda: visit the battlefields of the Crimean War, rent scooters in Mykonos and see the Whirling Dervishes in Istambul.  Oh, and let's not forget: enjoy Crystal's extreme pampering.

This is an exciting itinerary which appeals to both of us for different reasons but in equal measure; it combines the beauty of the Aegean Sea and the richness of the Grecian culture and archeological treasures, it provides insights into Blake's "Cossack roots" and feeds his enthusiasm for all things "war", and it fulfils our shared love for adventure and the exotic on the streets of Istanbul.

We leave for Athens on September 4 looking forward to meeting some old friends from last year's great Antarctic Adventure.
